Former Middletown Mayor Joe DeStefano scored a landslide victory in Tuesday's Democratic primary that brought him one step closer to City Hall.
Nearly 70 percent of Middletown's voters cast their ballots for DeStefano, choosing him over incumbent Merlinda Duncanson.
"I think you're going to see the city turn around," says DeStefano supporter Bob Courtenay.
Duncanson, who was endorsed by the Working Family Party, may still face DeStefano in the November election. However, she has yet to decide whether or not to stay in the race.
