A former Mount Vernon police officer has been sentenced to three years probation for assaulting an inmate who was handcuffed and in his custody.
Surveillance video captured the moments 29-year-old James Ready threw the inmate on the floor while transferring them from the hospital to police headquarters.
Ready pleaded guilty to assault, according to the Westchester District Attorney's Office.
