Witnesses told police that Ben Gordon hit his son across the face with a closed fist early Monday morning in Terminal B.
Police say two officers suffered minor injuries as they tried to arrest the Mount Vernon High School alum.
Gordon was charged with assault, criminal contempt and resisting arrest.
His son was taken to the hospital for observation.
