A former part-time Tuxedo Park police officer admitted Thursday to padding his timesheets so he could get paid for hours he never worked.
John Reilly, 51, pleaded guilty to official misconduct in the Orange County Courthouse. Reilly told the judge that from January 2005 to May 2006 he received payment for hours he claimed he worked, but did not. The district attorney says when Reilly is sentenced next month he faces 60 days in the Orange County Jail and probation. Reilly could receive up to a year in jail.
Reilly?s admission comes on the heels of the former Tuxedo Park police chief, Robert Culhane, pleading guilty to pocketing about $1,000 of PBA fundraising money. The judge only gave Culhane a $270 fine, saying the humiliation of losing his post was punishment enough.
