One of Westchester's own fallen heroes is being honored on the national stage.
The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C. includes 18 members from Westchester like fallen Yonkers Police Detective Sgt. Frank Gualdino.
Attorney General Merrick Garland delivered the keynote address at the National Police Officers Memorial Service at the West Front of the Capitol. "They promised that nothing no danger, no threat would stop them from showing up when they were needed the most. Each of the individuals we honored today kept that promise." Gualdino's and 223 other names were engraved and added to the national memorial.
Honor guards will continue standing watch over the memorial site to honor and remember those officers who made the ultimate sacrifice.
