Family and friends gathered Wednesday to remember a fallen Yonkers police officer.
Detective William Sullivan died from complications of COVID-19 three years ago.
On Wednesday, a flagpole was dedicated in his honor outside Westchester Hills School 29.
His daughter, Jacqueline, teaches there."I still go places and people stop me and go, 'Oh, your husband did this for me, your husband did that for me.' It's amazing and it's not shocking because I know how he was. Cause I was with him since we were 15 years old," says Eileen Sullivan, Detective Sullivan's widow.
Sullivan served in the department for 30 years.
His son, William III, is now a Yonkers police officer.
