The family of a teenager killed in a car crash last year is demanding justice in his death.
The Mendez family is asking for criminal charges to be brought on the teenager behind the wheel at the time of the accident.
Adelso Remigio was allegedly driving more than 100 mph before wrapping his car around a utility pole on Route 405. Three teenage passengers were ejected from the vehicle, including 17-year-old Jensy Mendez, who was killed instantly.
Mendez's family members say they are still waiting for the district attorney to take action against Remigio.
"He was not supposed to put my son in his car and race the way he did on a foggy night," says Raphael Mendez, Jensy's father. "That's not an accident - that's a criminal case."
Rockland District Attorney Tom Zugibe says the case had become inactive, but was reactivated per the request of the Mendez family. According to Zugibe, the case will be resolved in the next couple of weeks.
