The Food and Drug Administration is telling shoppers to throw out cheese from Cooperstown Cheese sold or distributed between June 21 and July 10.
News 12 was told the Cooperstown product may have been sold at several farmers markets throughout the Hudson Valley this month. The locally sourced cheese may contain listeria, which can make people sick or even turn fatal for young kids and the elderly.
People experiencing fever-like symptoms, headaches, nausea or abdominal pain should see a doctor right away.
Anyone with these cheeses in their fridge is also advised to return them to where they were purchased to seek a refund.
