An old playground in Spring Valley is set to be transformed into a women's health center thanks to the help of federal funding secured by lawmakers.
The 10,000 square-foot RefuahHealth Center of Excellence for women's health will focus on providing infertility care.
"It has always been a dream of mine to be able to help women who are facing the same struggles," says Catherine Cano, a midwife at RefuahHealth. "I welcome the opportunity to pay it forward."
The federal funds have helped bring the $2 million project closer to reality.
"This project's going to change lives and give Lower Hudson Valley women and moms the affordable health care they need," says Sen. Chuck Schumer.
Rep. Mondaire Jones says he is proud to help provide critical funding for a project that will have a profound impact on the community.
The center is expected to take 16 months to build.
