Federal prosecutors are pushing for a former Briarcliff Manor police officer to be sentenced to four consecutive life terms.
Nicholas Tartaglione was convicted of the murders of four immigrants in Orange County in 2016 over a drug deal.
Prosecutors say he led a coordinated, premeditated plot to kidnap, torture, and murder one man over money. When three innocent witnesses arrived with that man, Tartaglione directed and participated in their executions.
Tartaglione's attorney is asking for his sentence to be postponed as they seek a new trial. As of now, his sentencing is set for Monday.
