Gender bias, discrimination and sexual harassment - all accusations in a new lawsuit filed by a female former officer against the village of Suffern and its former and current police chiefs.
Tara Cable claims former Chief Clarke Osborn ignored her complaints of ongoing "sexually harassing behavior" by his son, William Osborn, a probationary officer. Her allegations include "inappropriate photos" and "unwanted touching."
She also accuses the department and new Chief Andrew Laughlin of holding her to different standards than her male colleagues.
"In the complaint, we allege that male officers who were late or didn't show up for duty at all were not treated in nearly the same way as she was," says Cable's attorney, Michael Sussman.
Laughlin tells News 12 he cannot comment on pending litigation.
News 12 is still waiting to hear from Osborn and the village.
