The city's finance department has opened a new multimillion dollar customer service center in the South Bronx.
Officials say the new facility on 3030 Third Ave. is a one-stop shop for Bronx residents to pay bills and check records. The center offers more payment windows, more space and updated technology to handle business.
"It's a pleasure to be here," says resident Marcus Quimbaya. "The old place was a mess ? a disaster."
Some Bronx residents, including Quimbaya, say they were never notified of the move and have been arriving at the original office to find they can't make their payments. To avoid a similar issue, the Department of Finance is alerting residents that the borough's business center will be closing on November 30 and moving to the Third Avenue location as well.
The entire center is expected to be fully operational by December 3.
