A fire at a shopping center disrupted several businesses Friday morning after flames spread into the walls of a spa on Central Park Avenue in Greenburgh.
The fire broke out around 8 a.m. at Tranquility Spa in the Midway Shopping Center at 917 Central Park Ave., near the Greenburgh-Scarsdale border.
Fire officials said the blaze started in a back room of the business.
The fire was difficult to extinguish because it spread into the walls.
Multiple emergency units responded to the scene as smoke poured from the spa.
The business was closed at the time of the fire.
No injuries were reported.
Con Edison crews also responded.
Gas and electrical service to the spa were shut off to parts of the shopping center, affecting numerous stores and restaurants. it is unknown at this time how long the businesses will be closed.
There is no word yet on what caused the fire.
