A fire broke out in a chemistry lab classroom on the second floor of Beacon High School yesterday around 4 p.m.
The Beacon Fire Department responded to the scene, finding smoke and that a staff member had already extinguished most of the fire.
Firefighters quickly put out the remaining flames.
The classroom sustained significant damage, with ashes, charred cabinets, and melted shelves. The Beacon Fire Department shared photos of the aftermath on Facebook.
The cause of the fire is under investigation but does not appear suspicious at this time.
