A car caught fire at a home in Dutchess County on Monday, resulting in the destruction of the vehicle and damage to the garage.
The Rhinebeck Fire Department reported that the incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. Images shared on the department's Facebook page depict flames bursting from the car, with the wind exacerbating the situation by blowing flames and smoke toward the house, causing additional damage to the garage.
Firefighters responded to the scene and managed to extinguish the car fire before it spread further. Subsequently, they proceeded to extinguish the garage and conducted a check for any additional damage.
No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
