Firefighters responded to a fierce fire at an abandoned house in Bedford earlier this morning.
Fire officials say multiple departments were called in to combat the flames, which erupted at a residence on Long Ridge Road. The intensity of the fire prompted the presence of several fire departments, including from Bedford, Pound Ridge and Greenwich.
Crews encountered thick smoke billowing from both the top and sides of the home.
Firefighters broke windows to gain better access to the fire. It appears that a portion of the house has been completely destroyed, with one side reduced to ashes.
The cause of the fire remains undisclosed at this time.
