Dutchess County first responders are banding together to help raise money for a middle school girl who suffered a serious medical emergency.
The Tivoli Fire Department and the Red Hook Police Department are sponsoring a great event for Kailyn who is a sixth grader at Linden Avenue Middle School.
On Nov. 28, 2022, Kailyn was rushed to Northern Dutchess Hospital, then air-lifted to Albany Medical Center where she underwent surgery for AVM - Arteriovenous Malfunction - a cerebral brain bleed.
Kailyn is slowly recovering, but she will need extensive OT, PT, and visits to her neurosurgeon in Albany. It has also been hard for her family, and her mom has had to stop working to care for her.
On Feb. 25, fire crews and police officers will be hosting a Benefit Breakfast for Kailyn at the Tivoli Fire Department. The doors open at 8 a.m. and it ends at noon.
