A traffic disruption in Hoboken is expected to slow the morning commute today. The closure is tied to environmental testing for a Hudson River flood project.
Starting today, 14th Street between Washington and Bloomfield streets will be closed from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. for the work.
The change affects drivers and bus riders:
New York–bound buses will be detoured through Washington Street before heading to 15th Street and then Willow Avenue to rejoin the usual route.
The bus stop at 15th Street and Willow Avenue will move to the north side. Signs will be posted to guide riders.
Buses bound for Hoboken Terminal will travel along Willow Avenue to 11th Street and move to Washington Street before returning to the normal route.
Traffic on 14th Street will also be shut down from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The closure is expected to last two weeks.
Commuters are urged to give themselves extra time.
