Police investigate bank robbery in Nanuet

The Rye Police Department reported multiple road closures Sunday morning as heavy rainfall caused flash flooding across the city.

Playland Parkway, Midland Avenue at Peck Avenue and Milton Road near the Marina are closed due to flooding, according to police.

A Flash Flood Warning remains in effect for Rye and surrounding areas until 10:30 a.m.

Police are advising residents with vehicles parked in low-lying areas to move them to higher ground.

Officials said heavy rainfall is causing flash flooding on roadways and in low-lying locations throughout the area.

Authorities are urging residents to avoid unnecessary travel, not drive around barricades and never attempt to drive through standing water.
