? A Parkchester food program is turning to local groups and donations to keep afloat in the face of budget cuts.

The director of Regional Aid for Interim Needs (RAIN) says the program feeds 1,500 people each month. Some of them include retiree Clement Roberts who says the food bank helps him stock up on groceries without busting his wallet so he can pay for his medical needs. Bronx grandmother of five Alice Moore says the program also helps her put food on the table.

RAIN is working with other charitable groups and solicits donations to stay in business at a time when other programs are forced to turn away people in need.
