Four people were killed after an SUV crashed Saturday on East Tremont and Commonwealth avenues.
According to police, the GMC Envoy hit the curb and struck a utility police around 4 a.m. Police say three male passengers were pronounced dead at the scene. A 26-year-old woman, who was also in the car, was taken to Jacobi Hospital where she was pronounced dead, say police.
Witnesses say the SUV was speeding when it tried to negotiate the turn. They say the impact of the crash overturned the SUV and caused three people to be ejected from the vehicle. Residents say cars are constantly speeding in that area. Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
