From skis, to tubes, to snowshoes - have a hot time on the snow in Carmel

Bundle up and make the best of the cold on this week’s Road Trip: Close to Home at Fahnestock Winter Park in Carmel.
"We have approximately 20km of ski trails, we also have three snowshoe trails for beginning, intermediate and advanced snowshoers and we also have a very nice sledding hill," says manager Declan Hennely, of Fahnestock Winter Park.
One of the best parts about this place is the rental shop - they have all the equipment you'll need to take on the trails.
Choose from cross country skis, snowshoes and snow tubes. Then, there are plenty of signs to help you glide your way through meandering groomed trails. "I always wanted to try cross country skiing. I can't really ski properly and downhill skiing so I thought this would be a great thing to try," says skier Tom Wardle.
You can also take your skills to the middle of the lake where you can breathe in these breathtaking views. Also on the lake — ice fishing! "We've got about a foot of ice on the lake right now, people will ice fish which is quite a big draw," says Hennely.
And what's a road trip without some food? Fill up with some chili and hot cocoa and warm up before you go back out again!
