Metro-North service has been completely restored after a fire on the 138th Street Bridge across from the Harlem River.
The fire, which broke out shortly before noon yesterday, suspended service in and out of Grand Central Terminal. It was contained by 2:30 p.m., when two of the four lines were restored.
Crews worked quickly to check the safety of the remaining two lines and just as the evening rush began, they were able to reopen them.
Officials are continuing to investigate the cause of the fire.
