Crowds of supporters gathered Sunday night in White Plains to benefit thousands of flood victims in El Salvador.
Music, dancing and food were all part of the event that aimed to raise money to help those who are trying to rebuild their lives following Tropical Storm Julia's destruction.
"About three weeks ago, there was a tropical storm in El Salvador, which caused a lot of damage in El Salvador, so we're basically raising funds to help our people in El Salvador," said Armando Rivas, president of the Yonkers Salvadoran Group.
Organizers said their goal is to raise at least $5,000 to help relief efforts.
At least 10 people died when the storm hit El Salvador in October and more than 1,000 people had to be evacuated.
