Funeral services have been set for a Mount Vernon teenager who was fatally shot last week.
A wake will be held for 18-year-old Tamani Turner next Monday at the Church of God of Mount Vernon on South First Avenue from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
On Tuesday, a final viewing will be held at the same location from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Funeral services will follow at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla.
A GoFundMe page has been established to raise money for the funeral costs.
The page says Turner attended Mount Vernon Public Schools and then studied at Archbishop Stepinac High on a sports scholarship. He was an avid gamer and gifted athlete, specifically in football. He leaves behind his parents and a sister.
Officials say Turner was shot twice in the chest Thursday at Garden Avenue and East Fourth Street. He was rushed to Montefiore New-Rochelle Hospital and was taken into surgery in critical condition. He succumbed to his injuries Thursday around 7:30 p.m.
