Police say a massive horse was found wandering along Route 59 Monday afternoon.
The 2,300 pound Belgian Draft horse, named Goliath, is a member of a traveling petting zoo that was setting up at a carnival at the Nanuet Mall. The owner of the petting zoo, Michael Sandlofer, says someone accidentally left a gate open while Goliath's stall was being cleaned.
Witnesses say the horse crossed six lanes of traffic on Route 59, causing cars to suddenly stop.
Police say his handler had him back across the street in just a few minutes. They say no one was injured and no charges will be filed in the incident. For an Interview about Goliath's escape from the Nanuet Mall petting zoo go to Channel 612 on your IO Digital Cable Box and select IO Extra.
