Property tax relief is the focus of a new budget proposal unveiled by House Republicans in Connecticut.

The Connecticut House GOP on Tuesday introduced its “Pathway to Affordability” budget.

The proposal aims to lower local property taxes by sending $365 million to cities and towns.

To pay for the changes, Republican lawmakers propose ending Medicaid coverage for undocumented immigrants. The plan also budgets for fewer state workers.

Republicans said they may need to dip into the state’s budget reserve to cover the cost of the proposal.
