Homeowners affected by Superstorm Sandy are being given more time to apply for tax exemptions on renovations.
Gov. Kathy Hochul signed new legislation Wednesday to extend the application deadline for properties affected by the 2012 storm.
The law follows a surge in construction delays and supply shortages due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The new law extends the deadline by two years to March 1, 2024.
