Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that $20.7 million is available to support SNUG street outreach programs.
According to her website, the programs work to reduce gun violence and save lives in communities across the state.
Family Services of Westchester is one of the grantees that will receive over $1 million.
"It will help us provide a whole lot more opportunities for the participants of our program. Like I said, they are the most high-risk individuals in the community of being shot or shooting someone," said program manager Robert Carter.
Three other organizations in the Hudson Valley are also receiving funding for the program.
