The primary race for governor is one of the races that brought voters out to the polls in Westchester and Hudson Valley Tuesday.
Democratic gubernatorial candidate Eliot Spitzer and his family started the day out casting their ballots in Manhattan. Polls show Spitzer with a commanding lead over challenger Nassau County Executive Tom Suozzi. Spitzer is hoping for a large voter turnout. He says democracy works when people participate.
Spitzer says if he wins the primary, his work is not over. He plans to get his platform out to the voters to beat Republican candidate John Faso in November.
The polls close at 9 p.m.
