Anyone who picks up prescriptions at the Rite Aid on East Hartsdale Avenue will need to find a new store. Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner says it will close in February.
He said the community started an online petition to save it, but it’s unlikely to help since the store filed for bankruptcy. He did add that the town is open to having a similar tenant fill the space.
Alexander Matarazzo, a patron who frequents Rite Aid, agreed.
"Yeah, a grocery store, perhaps a market…I think anything that could give access to fresh foods [is a good idea]," Matarazzo said.
