Former Westchester County executive-turned-gubernatorial hopeful Rob Astorino said on social media that there are secret migrant flights happening in Orange County.
Astorino posted video on Twitter Sunday night claiming that it was a secret migrant flight captured at Stewart International Airport in the dead of night.
He also tweeted, "The Biden administration's secret migrant flights from the southern border are now also regularly landing at Stewart International Airport in Orange County. Kathy Hochul does nothing and we the citizens pay all the bills."
Back then Westchester, officials said these flights were "nothing new."
The Department of Homeland Security confirmed to News 12 that the flights are legal and are reuniting minors to their parents or sponsors after getting separated while illegally crossing the border.
Astorino, who is running for governor of New York on the Republican ticket, challenged those claims by pointing out that many of the travelers captured in his videos appear to be adults.
News 12 reached out to the Orange County executive for comment but has not heard back. News 12 also reached out to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which operates the airport, but has not heard from them.
