Rivertown mayors in Westchester are calling for residents to be patient while demanding that each vote be counted.
The mayors of Hastings and Ardsley joined other elected officials at Greenburgh Town Hall to demand a fair counting of all votes in the 2020 presidential election.
"This process can be long and painstaking, but let's remain calm and patient," says Ardsley Mayor Nancy Kaboolian. "All votes legally cast are fairly counted to reach a true outcome."
The Greenburgh town supervisor agreed, calling for every vote to be counted.
Officials from Protect the Results group predict there could be widespread demonstrations if President Donald Trump attempts to declare victory prior to all votes being counted.
"This is a nationwide movement, including in the Rivertowns that we are going to mobilize if needed," says activist Kelli Scott.
The presidential race has left many on edge, fearing violent unrest in the aftermath of the election.
