The Village of Hastings is holding its second meeting tonight to debate whether or not to allow retail marijuana sales and dispensaries.
A virtual meeting was held last night with the village board and locals, with varying opinions on the topic.
“If my community is force-fed a policy that a majority feels is a violation of traffic safety goals and quality of life, than we have a much bigger problem to address,” said one resident.
“I’d like to remind everyone that marijuana is legal. It is and will be in Hastings. The only question here is if Hastings will allow a new local business that has potential revenue income or not,” countered another.
A member of the state's cannabis control board will be joining the village for tonight's meeting.
