Two individuals are in the process of recovery following a serious crash on the Palisades Parkway within Orange County. The incident transpired near the Bear Mountain Traffic Circle in the town of Highlands. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) crews based in New Windsor and Cornwall informed News 12 that a vehicle was involved in a collision and subsequently overturned multiple times on the roadway. Both occupants of the vehicle were subsequently airlifted from the scene and transported to Westchester Medical Center. An investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances of the crash, and further details about the individuals' conditions are being sought.
A 21-year-old Middletown man, Dylan Benner, is facing charges of allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl. The Orange County District Attorney's Office stated that Benner met the young girl online and subsequently encountered her in Port Jervis, where the alleged assault took place. The accused is presently incarcerated in Orange County Jail, being held without bail.
One person was injured in a fire in Larchmont on Tuesday. The fire occurred Monday night at a residence situated at the intersection of Rockland and Waverly avenues. Authorities are actively investigating the cause of the fire.
