Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
Authorities say a gas station convenience store in Central Valley was robbed at gunpoint on Saturday. Town of Woodbury police say the suspect flashed what appeared to be a handgun at a Sunoco location on Route 32 just before 7 a.m.
They say cash and merchandise were stolen and that the suspect ran off but was seen on surveillance video nearby getting into a car.
A Saugerties man could spend life behind bars for sexually abusing a child in Ulster County. Benjamin Santiago was convicted in June for abusing a 3-year-old and taking pictures of the abuse. The Ulster County DA says Santiago has been sentenced 20 years to life in prison for the crime.
Police arrested a man at the Liberty Motel while executing a search warrant as part of a drug bust. Officers say the search warrant was the result of an ongoing narcotics investigation into the distribution of fentanyl. Officers responded to a series of nonfatal overdoses in January. When police executed a search warrant, the suspect, Gerrod Prater, ran from officers and threw a clear plastic bag containing fentanyl. Investigators found 50 grams of fentanyl, 30 grams of cocaine and narcotic packaging material.
Prater, of Liberty, was charged with four counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
