Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
A Town of Saugerties court employee is behind bars this morning for official misconduct. State police found Haley Whalen used her credentials to dismiss tickets for people she knows. She now faces charges including falsifying business records, tampering with public records, and criminal contempt. Whalen has been remanded to Ulster County Jail.
White Plains police are now investigating the deaths of two women. Their bodies were discovered Tuesday night in the same room of the White Plains YWCA. Both women lived there in separate rooms. They had not been seen since Sunday, and it's estimated they had been dead for at least 24 hours. Police say it appears they died from overdosing.
A Kingston man could spend up to 5 years in prison for attempting to illegally obtain a gun. Oryin McLeod admitted to paying a licensed dealer in North Carolina for six semi-automatic handguns. He also faces a 3-year term of supervised release. He is set to be sentenced this June.
