Crawford police have arrested a man in connection with a Thursday morning shooting. Anthony Parrish, 53, of Middletown, was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon, police said. He allegedly shot a 37-year-old man in the area of State Route 17K and Teplitz Court. The victim, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds, is in critical condition at Garnet Health Medical Center. Parrish is being held without bail at the Orange County Jail.
A Cortlandt Manor couple reported their box truck stolen with thousands of dollars’ worth of tools inside Wednesday night. The couple, who run a carpentry company, said the truck was stolen from a client's gated driveway on Jacob Street. The stolen truck is a 2003 GMC with blue lettering that reads "Home Improvement" on the doors. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Yorktown Police Department at (914) 962-4141.
Protests continue outside the Home Depot in New Rochelle. Images of the demonstrations were captured Thursday on the Citizen app. Community organizations have been speaking out since day laborers were banned from looking for work outside the store four months ago. Their goal is to negotiate with Home Depot to allow day laborers to once again seek work there.
