Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
Robert Durst has been indicted for the murder of his first wife Kathie - nearly four decades after her disappearance. Westchester District Attorney Mimi Rocah announced Durst was charged by a Westchester County grand jury with a single count of murder in the second degree. The grand jurors started hearing the case last week - just days after Durst was sentenced to life in prison in California for the killing of his best friend, Susan Berman. Kathie Durst went missing from the couple's South Salem home back in 1982. Her body was never discovered, but her husband, Robert Durst, was long considered a suspect.
A Mount Vernon woman is facing multiple charges after an accident sent nine people to the hospital. Police say 25-year-old Nicole Smith was heading west on East Lincoln Avenue around 6:15 a.m. Monday when she collided with a car and then a Bee-Line Bus on Summit Avenue. Police later learned Smith was also involved in an accident in Manhattan around midnight. She's charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs for the Mount Vernon crash.
An investigation is underway in Rockland County after a car drove into a ShopRite in Pearl River, striking a bottle collector. Police say a 77-year-old New City man was driving the Jeep Grand Cherokee when it drove up the curb and into the building around 2:20 p.m. Monday. A 74-year-old Orangeburg woman was taken to a local hospital and treated for injuries that are not life-threatening.
