Town of Ramapo police arrested a woman Wednesday following a fatal crash at the intersection of Airmont Road and Route 59 on Jan. 28. They say 41-year-old Sherlyne Bazile faces multiple charges, including manslaughter, reckless endangerment, assault, and reckless driving. Bazile was traveling east on Route 59 when she crossed over into the westbound lane and struck a vehicle operated by an 85-year-old man, who died from his injuries.
Three Orange County men are facing drug charges after monthlong investigation. Tony Caperna, Anthony Cuttler, and Jesse Johnson have been arrested for alleged narcotics trafficking. Police seized powder cocaine, suspected Fentanyl synthetic opioid pills, a digital scale, packaging materials, and money.
Police say a Syracuse man was issued 34 tickets following a pursuit on state Route 17 in the Town of Wallkill. A trooper was patrolling Route 17 on May 1 when he observed a white Mercedes traveling west at a high rate of speed. The trooper tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver, later identified as 23-year-old Ronaldo Depass, refused. Depass stopped at Beverly Drive, where he then fled on foot and was eventually taken into custody.
