Here are some local stories making headlines on this Friday.
A Bloomingburg man now behind bars and charged in a fatal hit and run. Investigators say Raymond Cammerino was driving drunk and had a blood alcohol level, twice the legal limit when he hit a 39-year-old woman with his truck Wednesday night in Sullivan County. He now faces multiple charges including DWI and vehicular manslaughter. A GoFundMe page has been set up for the victim.
A Bronx man has been arrested and charged in a local burglary after a month-long investigation. Police say 27-year-old Emiljian Drekaj broke into a Harrison home last month. They say he ran off after being confronted by the nanny.
The Metro-North Penn Station Access Project is getting back on track after the pandemic derailed it. The multibillion-dollar plan opens Manhattan's West Side to commuters in the Bronx and Westchester for the first time. A firm is now being chosen to design and build four new Metro-North Railroad stations and make track upgrades.
