Authorities apprehended a woman at LaGuardia Airport after discovering a handgun concealed in her carry-on bag, marking the fifth firearm intercepted by TSA officers at the airport this year. Upon inspection, officials found the firearm discreetly tucked inside a boot, accompanied by seven bullets concealed within a package of makeup wipes. Additionally, a gun magazine intended for ammunition storage was discovered hidden inside a sock. The woman now faces charges related to weapons possession, with potential fines amounting to up to $15,000.
A World War II-era mortar was discovered by a Yonkers Department of Public Works worker while cleaning out a relative's belongings. The employee brought the mortar to the Yonkers Department of Public Works Service Center to find out how to dispose of it. The bomb squad deemed it nonfunctional and disposed of it.
A gas leak at the East Fishkill Amazon Warehouse prompted an evacuation of employees last week. Video footage obtained by News 12 depicts numerous employees exiting the facility and heading toward the company's parking lot. According to an Amazon spokesperson, the leak was categorized as "small." Firefighters swiftly cleared the facility, which resumed operations within an hour of the incident.
