Here are some of the headlines happening in the Hudson Valley to start the workweek.
Three people were hurt in a fire in Carmel on Saturday. Several fire crews helped battle the fire, including the Putnam Fire Department. The Red Cross is continuing to provide financial and emotion assistance to the three victims of the fire.
A New Windsor man is in New York again after being apprehended in another state for failing to make his court appearances. Andrew Narbonne allegedly cut down one flagpole at a 9/11 memorial in Washingtonville, and one other in New Windsor in July. He failed to make two court appearances in August and September. Narbonne is facing two counts of criminal mischief.
New York State police are beginning the “Click it or Ticket” enforcement campaign in an effort to increase the people who use seat belts. It’s estimated that 94% of drivers wear their seat belts, but the goal is to hit 100%.
There is going to be an increased police presence at Scarsdale High School today after students were dismissed early Friday due to a perceived threat. The school had been placed into a lockdown. Superintendent Thomas Hagerman says the district does not believe there was a threat to students, but an investigation is ongoing.
