Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.

A Mount Vernon man has been arrested in relation to several violent crimes. Police say they received a call about a man threatening a victim with a knife. Once at the scene, police say they found Reynard Smith the third, with a large kitchen knife. According to police, Smith was the suspect in the earlier call and the suspect in a series of other knife-related incidents. He was charged in connection with four incidents from April 26, May 1, 2, and 4.

Port Chester police say they're investigating several larcenies. Police say usually a victim is approached by a woman and a man in a vehicle, trying to sell jewelry. Then while the suspects help the victim try on the new jewelry, they take the victim's own jewelry items. In one instance, a victim told police a knife was shown, and their jewelry was forcibly taken. Port Chester police say they're now working with other agencies to try and find the suspects.

Saugerties police say a man was arrested on felony burglary charges. Police say they found Kareem K. Bonaventure of Kingston stole cartons of cigarettes from the stockroom at a Quick Chek on Route 9W in the Town of Saugerties. According to police, after a warrant was issued, Bonaventure was found and arrested.
