Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley
A Pine Bush man is facing charges for sex abuse and endangering the welfare of a child. New York State Police arrested James Grant Jr. on Wednesday. They say he assaulted a girl who was playing with puppies in his home while her mother, who was looking to buy his home, had stepped away to look at his detached garage. Grant was arraigned in the Town of Wawarsing court. He was released on $5,000 bail, and the judge issued an order of protection. He is due back in court later this month.
Some students in Cornwall are recovering after getting sick from eating cannabis edibles at school. The Cornwall Central School District says students at the middle school were treated by the school's health office, and then sent home. In a statement, the school superintendent reiterates that cannabis is not legal for minors, and is asking parents to have age appropriate conversations with their kids.
A Nanuet man is facing charges in connection with a shooting in Haverstraw. Percy Ayers II is charged with attempted murder, among other charges, for the shooting back in October. Haverstraw police say they found two men with gunshot wounds inside P and D Seafood on Main Street. Ayers was arraigned in Haverstraw Village Justice Court and remanded to Rockland County Jail.
