Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley today.
State police have identified the woman killed in a crash on the Palisades Parkway shortly before noon on Sunday. The say Galina Surman, 66, of Staten Island, was crossing the highway while hiking with family and friends and was struck by a car going northbound. News 12 is told the driver of the vehicle stayed on the scene. No charges have been filed.
Ramapo police say a 30-year-old man was stabbed multiple times this weekend in Sloatsburg. Officers responded to 53 Laurel Road on Saturday and found the victim had been involved in a dispute with another male house-mate which led to a physical altercation. A 22-year-old male suspect is currently being held awaiting bail. The victim is in stable condition.
Con Edison says scammers are calling their customers and telling them must make an immediate payment via Cash App, Venmo or Zelle. They want their customers to know these calls are fraud and Con Edison does not use any of these electronic payment services. If you get a call like this, Con Edison says to hang up the phone.
