Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
Norwalk police have reported the arrest of two individuals involved in the kidnapping of a doctor. The incident occurred in July, where Steve Daley, of Mount Vernon, and Anthony Benjamin, of the Bronx, allegedly held the victim against his will for two days within New York City. Upon interviewing the victim, officers discovered that the suspects were waiting for him in the vicinity. Both Daley and Benjamin are facing charges of kidnapping with a firearm. Daley is presently held on $250,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court next month.
David Gaetan, of Peekskill, is now facing charges related to a shooting within the city. Police have indicated that Gaetan discharged a shot near the 500 block of Nelson Avenue on a Tuesday afternoon. Authorities recovered an illegal 9-millimeter semi-automatic pistol in connection with the incident.
A New Rochelle resident is confronting multiple charges following allegations of driving a stolen vehicle. Police reported the presence of a suspicious vehicle traveling on North Avenue, which was subsequently identified as stolen from Greenwich, Connecticut. Additionally, the vehicle was equipped with only one Connecticut license plate instead of the required two, with the missing plate reportedly stolen from New York City. Juan Pablo Castillo is now charged with criminal possession of stolen property in connection with the case.
