Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
A Westchester man is facing murder charges in the 1999 cold case death of a Bronx teenager. Joseph Martinez, also known as Jupiter Joe, was linked to the murder through familial DNA technology - the first time the technology was used in New York City. Martinez was indicted Monday on murder charges for the death of 13-year-old Minerliz Soriano. Martinez is being held in prison and is due back in court next March.
An arrest has been made in connection with a quadruple shooting that happened in Newburgh last month. A 17-year-old from Newburgh is facing felony charges related to the William Street shooting that happened Nov. 17. Four victims suffered gunshot wounds.
The Greater Hudson Valley Boy Scouts council has decided not to sell Camp Bullowa in Stony Point. The council had informed the town last June that they were looking to sell the pristine 313 acre campground. The money from the sale was to be used for settling nationwide lawsuits filed by child abuse victims against the Boy Scouts.
