A New City couple has been charged with murder more than eight months after remains were found in a crawlspace at a Clarkstown home. Authorities say 85-year-old Constantinos Mastakouris was killed last January. His body was found in March. The victim's grandson Constantinos Doonan and JoAnn Haughey are now facing second-degree murder and burglary charges.

A man accused of selling drugs in the Town of Ulster is now behind bars. Daniel Ormond was arrested after a lengthy investigation showed narcotics were being purchased from the Rodeway Inn Hotel. He was processed and released but failed to appear in court. Ormond was indicted on drug charges in October and was sent to Ulster County Jail after he was located in Woodstock last week.

A former NYPD officer from Mohegan Lake has pleaded guilty to federal charges. Gina Mestre admitted to obstructing a federal investigation and helping a gang leader evade capture in a murder case. The shooting happened in November 2020 in the Bronx. The suspect was eventually caught and sentenced to 35 years in prison. Mestre faces a maximum of 15 years in prison when she is sentenced in March.
