Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.

A Yonkers police detention officer is recovering from a possible fentanyl exposure, authorities say.  Authorities say she was working in the booking facility when she came in contact with the drug through an inmate's clothing. First responders gave her three doses of Narcan and took her to the hospital. The facility was placed on lockdown while the hazmat team investigated.

The officer has since been discharged from the hospital and should make a full recovery. A determination as to a potential cause is still under investigation. Certain items are being tested at a forensic laboratory.

Police have released the name of the man killed in a police-involved shooting in Putnam County. Kent police say they were forced to fire at Christopher Torres, 34, of Carmel, who they say was stabbing a woman. Torres was pronounced dead on the scene. The stabbed woman remains in critical condition at Westchester Medical Center. The New York Attorney General's Office says it has opened its own investigation

Two drivers are recovering after a serious crash Thursday morning in Dutchess County. The drivers became trapped in their damaged vehicles just before 10:15 a.m. Multiple teams worked together to safely free the drivers, who are expected to be OK.
